QR codes and Waivers

QR codes and waivers.

I had a thought that if I went back in time to before my son was born and had a chance to dole out obscure advice to myself, I would say: get ready to fill out lots of waivers and master the use of QR codes, and develop the patience to complete them. Even though I don't enjoy completing waivers and really don't fully understand the purpose of them, they seem to be the entry point that allows access to many of the events I take my child to. School trip? Waiver. College workshop? Waiver. Slide show? QR code gets you to a website.

Now of the two, which do I feel is useful? The QR code, of course. The QR code opens doors to information. The waiver is time spent protecting someone if they do something wrong.

Is there a benefit to the consumer if they fill out a waiver? Not sure. I have never been to a workshop on the benefits of signing a waiver, but I am sure the companies have trainings around what happens if you don't have one.

So, QR codes and waivers. You don't have to like them, but you need to use them or do them.
