You Signed Up for the Pain Whether You Knew It or Not

The school year that began in August is almost over.

For me, a school year has always reminded me of a UFC or boxing match. To find success, you need the ability to absorb punishment and keep battling — getting up after being knocked down, outlasting the adversity that comes your way each day.

You don’t sign up for the punishment, the hurt, or the risk. But it is part of the deal. And along the way, there is service. There is joy. And if you keep going, you will be a benefit to the people you serve.

Keep going.

What has this school year asked of you that you didn’t expect — and what has kept you getting back up?
