On a Friday, we can look back and say, "Wow, I'm really going through some things."

But the important thing about going through something is that you are, in fact, going through it. It may be difficult. It may feel heavy. But you are still moving.

And while you're going through it, it's good to pause and look back at what went well—the moments you enjoyed and the experiences that brought you joy. I call those moments my Friday glimmers.

When I look back at this past week, I can see several glimmers:

On Saturday, I went to see Hope, a Korean sci-fi horror film.

The Chicago Bears won on Sunday and put up 59 points. As a rabid Bears fan, I found that incredibly exciting.

The Cubs took two out of three from the Braves, and they're looking more and more like they're headed back to the playoffs.

I'm looking forward to seeing Resident Evil in IMAX tonight.

I attended my son's final back-to-school night. It feels surreal knowing that he is now a senior. I was also able to purchase his senior-year package, which includes several fun activities planned by the school. I'm grateful that I could do that for him.

And finally, the weather is beginning to cool down. That is definitely a glimmer.

These are the things that went well. They are the moments that brought me joy and reminded me that life isn't made up only of the difficult things.

So even when you're going through something hard, keep going through it—and remember to look for your glimmers.

What was your glimmer this week?

Here, I made this. My gift to you, for taking the time to read.
