Brick by Brick

Each day has its own set of challenges, and in my mind those challenges end in catastrophe. So it becomes my job to avoid the devastation and destruction these difficulties bring.

Until I pause and notice the thoughts coming out are hyperbolic.

For example, I tell myself I am being crushed under the weight of poor decisions in the past. Then I replay the decisions, mainly financial, that have played out.

But I pause again, and I have to say: yes, the weight of past choices that didn't generate the results I desired is heavy. But strength comes from the energy of the good decisions I made, and brick by brick, the crushing weight gets lifted.

I wish it were all at once. But one brick becomes two, and so on.

Keep going.

Have you ever mistaken a heavy day for a catastrophe?
