Sunday Smiles

Rather than calling it Sunday Scaries, I decided to use a forward-thinking focus for the upcoming week.

Here’s what made me smile this weekend:

Spending time at house church with friends. Watching Manchester United win over Liverpool. Seeing the Cubs sweep the Diamondbacks. The sweet and sour Sriracha sauce from Chick-fil-A. Helping my wife get prepared for her craft show. Going to the library with my wife. Waiting on my Star Wars shirt to arrive for May the 4th.

And this week? I’m looking forward to serving our staff for Teacher Appreciation Week and wearing my Darth Vader shirt on May 4th.

Sunday Scaries are legitimate — there are things I’m not really looking forward to this week. But I’m choosing to counter them with the things that make me smile. You can be scared. That’s okay. But guess what? You can also smile.
