Sunday
Sunday night — after laundry, groceries, and church — I wait for the Lakers game, watching a soccer match and reflecting on the weekend.
The thought of dreading Monday creeps in, but once I acknowledge it, I can shift to gratitude for what is right in front of me: my home, my family, friends, food, medicine, shoes, and the new socks that arrived in the mail today. Coffee to drink. Clean water.
The debt still exists. Work problems are still waiting. But that is for tomorrow. Sunday doesn’t have to be scary. Instead of dreading Monday, try listing what you are thankful for on Sunday.
What is one small, specific thing — something you might usually overlook — that you are grateful for this Sunday?
