Simple Self Care

Self-care doesn’t need to be elaborate, exciting, or expensive.

It can be the small, simple activities that bring you joy.

For me, that means:

The Dollar Tree. The Library. Coffee. Sports talk.

After a day of serving and navigating challenging situations, I leave work and head to the Dollar Tree.

It’s colorful. I purchase a pen, and markers, a new coffee cup with a witty letter S on it for my initial.

Then it’s off to the library where I scan the new-books section and wander the aisles. After checking out a book,

I walk through the park to the coffee shop, pick up an iced coffee with oatmilk,  (two Splendas), and head home with my recorded sports talk to keep me company on the commute.

It’s simple. It’s grounding. And it works.

Question for you:

What are the small, ordinary things you turn to when you need a reset—those everyday rituals that bring you calm and joy without costing much?
