Seeking Sunday
Sunday night before Monday can be a grind. Today was sleeping in, coffee, breakfast with my spouse, church, lunch at In-N-Out, and an afternoon of football—and hey, my fantasy team finally showed up. I wish it could last forever. But Monday’s coming. That’s 12 hours from now, so for the moment it’s back to the game, heating up last night’s Chinese from DoorDash, and switching the laundry.
I’m reminding myself that most of this is possible because I work. Finding gratitude on a Sunday night is tough, but it’s worth it. Jobs bring stress, worry, anxiety, and frustration—but they also bring purpose, meaning, opportunity, friendship, fun, and joy. It’s tempting to wish away the hard stuff, but a lot of it is outside my control.
Question: What’s one small thing you’re grateful for on Sunday night that helps you face Monday?
