Recharge on A

Saturday morning. Americano, purple pen, orange journal. My purple words line up on a white sheet of paper with blue lines, one after another. This is how writing goes, outside on the patio. I hear the other customers discussing the concerns of their lives. Workers on the roof speak a language that is foreign to me, and the café speakers are streaming Alicia Keys, who reassures me that everything is going to be okay. I take a sip of my Americano and continue to write. This is one component of a recharge.
