Power Source
This morning when I checked my phone, I had a notification saying the software update to iOS 26.2 didn’t go through and it would try again later.
So I connected my phone to the charger, tapped Update Now, and the update began. Two observations stood out.
First, the update only started once the phone was plugged into a power source. My initial thought was: when my personal “software” is running low, I need to be connected to a power source too. Step one is simple—find a power source and connect to it. There’s no need to start arguments about which power source is better than another.
Second, I noticed the update only took a few minutes. In the past, software updates could take hours. That made me wonder: does faster always mean better?
I don’t know. But I do know this—the reason I took time to update my own software over the weekend was so I can engage whatever this week brings in a calm, rational way.
And I’m also aware I’ll probably need another update at the end of the week—and that’s okay.
Question for readers: What’s your “power source” when you feel like your internal battery is running low?
