Mistake-Filled Monday

Today is Monday, and I couldn’t help but think back to the Bangles’ song “Manic Monday.” There’s one part in the song where they wish it were Sunday because that was their fun day.

And I’ve got to tell you, my Monday wasn’t manic, but I would call it Mistake-Filled Monday. Or maybe just Mistake Monday.

Because I made all sorts of mistakes.

It started when my wife sent me a picture of my car door open and my coffee cup sitting on top of it after I had gone back into the house.

Then I arrived at work this morning and realized I didn’t have my lunch.

Then I opened my backpack to find that I didn’t have my wireless mouse for my computer.

And then I missed a virtual meeting that I was supposed to have at 9:30.

So, there were a plethora of mistakes that I made on Monday.

Did it destroy my day?

No.

Did it destroy my spirit?

No.

It just gave me something to laugh at.

And that made me think: maybe it’s just a part of life to make mistakes, especially on a Monday.

Maybe a good day isn’t a day when you don’t make mistakes. Maybe it’s a day when your mistakes don’t get to decide what kind of day you’re going to have.
