Making up my mind
Is indecision really a bad thing?
Perhaps a better reframe is brainstorming.
For example, yesterday I had made up my mind I was going out for coffee. But then Saturday morning I woke up and began to go back and forth. Should I have coffee at home? Should I go out? Should I cancel the movie or book a new one? Then came the series of shameful comments directed towards myself. Stop being indecisive. Stop changing your mind.
In the end, I simply decided to brew coffee at home, and to journal.
That was just me brainstorming. My indecision led to a decision, so it really isn't being indecisive, it is just running options and coming up with a different solution. And since I am the only person involved, no one is hurt, none the wiser, so the shame need not be present.
Enjoy your Saturday.
What have you called indecision in yourself lately?
Here, I made this. My gift to you, for taking the time to read.
