Implementation

If you read a lot of self-help books, one piece of advice you'll hear over and over is, "Make a plan." Everything fails without a plan.

But I think that needs a little more context.

Most people already have a plan. I bet you have a plan. The problem usually isn't creating one. The problem is implementing it, being flexible when life gets in the way, and sticking with it instead of constantly making a new one.

I don't think a lack of planning keeps most people from succeeding. I think it's a lack of implementation.

So instead of asking, What's my plan? maybe ask, How am I implementing my plan today? What steps am I taking? What can I check off? What tactics am I actually using?

Because it's not the plan itself that gets you where you want to go.

It's the implementation.

What's one step from your existing plan that you can actually implement today?
