Some Saturdays I slow down, write the post by hand, photograph the page, and share it with you.
Saturday mornings are best served slow.
A stroll down the block to 310 Coffee. I go in thinking I'll order a breakfast sandwich, but the line is long and I don't want to wait, so I get a cranberry walnut muffin and a large coffee.
The two men in front of me are holding white cups of coffee, apparently from home, and they order two iced coffees. Odd for the morning.
The back patio has several families with dogs licking pup cups. I never bring Bella, my dog, to a coffee shop. I consider it, but I never do.
On Saturday, I can drink my coffee while I write and reflect. It's good not having to be anywhere. Monday through Friday, my day is guided by a calendar and a clock. Some of it I enjoy. Some of it I could go without.
The people next to me told each other it's good being busy. In my heart, I know that's true. But busy is hard. Busy is draining.
So on Saturday and Sunday, I'm giving busy a break for self-care. I'll see you on Monday!
When was the last time you didn't have to be anywhere?
Here, I made this. My gift to you, for taking the time to read.
Images are from my imagination, generated by AI. Writing is all me.
