Friday Glimmers

At the end of the week, it can be hard to remember what went well. It's almost like you're at the bottom of a hole, perseverating on everything that's not going the way you want. You have to climb the stairs to remember the good things.

And that's my Friday Glimmers. One memory, then another. One step, then another.

So, what went well this week?

On Sunday, I was able to go to our small church group and help make backpacks for the unhoused.

On Monday, the Bears had a dominant victory against the Seahawks on Monday Night Football. That's always a glimmer for me.

On Wednesday, I met with our church small group and led a short devotional.

On Thursday afternoon, a friend called, and I was able to talk with him about some of the things I was having trouble with. Having someone to talk to was a glimmer, too.

Every week, positive things happen. Things that go well, that you can look back on and say, "Hey, these are the glimmers."

And the thing about it is, once you remember one, you begin to remember more and more and more. The things you're having trouble with may still be there, but now you're remembering what else happened this week.

You're climbing the stairs.

What went well this week that you almost forgot?

Here, I made this. My gift to you, for taking the time to read.
