Space Junk

At 3:45 in the morning, sleep is the desired option, but your body wakes you up, and the problems of the day begin to assert themselves. They orbit my head like space junk. Along with them comes a Bruno Mars earworm, "Smokin Out the Window," a song about a man spending a great deal of money on a one-sided relationship. It makes me wonder if there is any connection between the song and my problems.

The dog is awake, and I cannot go back to sleep. So I pray, laying the issues at the feet of the Lord and hoping that solutions will surface.

I take a deep breath. I realize that the options available at this moment are to take a shower, get dressed, walk the dog, pack my lunch, greet my wife, make coffee, drive to work, greet the problems I am aware of, and plan for the ones I don't know exist yet.

Forward. That is the direction to move in.

So, off to the shower. There is playoff baseball to look forward to, and the Bears won last night.

What's orbiting your head before the sun comes up?

Here, I made this. My gift to you, for taking the time to read.
