Slow Sunday 9

Every Sunday, I slow down and write this post by hand. Then I take a picture of the page and share it here.

The Y was missing from the cover of the notebook I use to write Slow Sundays. Since it's election season, I save the ads to make collages. The fonts are colorful, and they're easy to cut out and paste down.

Quickly, a new Y was found and attached to my notebook. Attaching the letter Y had me asking about my own why. Why do I go to work each day? To pay bills. To make money to pay bills. To provide for my family. To help others.

At 18, I never thought that in my 50s my answer to why would be "make money to pay bills." Something says that isn't a good enough why. It isn't filled with mission and purpose, though it is necessary.

Maybe it's okay to have many whys. And it's okay to have small whys, too.

What small why got you here today?

Here, I made this. My gift to you, for taking the time to read.

Images are from my imagination, generated by AI. Writing is all me.
