Slow Sunday 12

Every Sunday, I slow down and write this post by hand. Then I take a picture of the page and share it here.

Fall back. Spring forward.

Last night we fell back and gained an hour of sleep, even though it doesn’t feel like it. For me, I don’t care for the pitch-black darkness arriving at 5 p.m.

As a child, falling back meant going around the house and resetting clocks. Now I only set back my manual alarm clock and my car. Every other clock has changed on its own: the TV, my phone, Alexa. What I rely on to tell me the time has changed. I no longer look for a clock. I look for my phone or ask Alexa.

A question: does change move us forward or back?

We set back our clocks and lose some light. In setting back our clocks, our lives continue to move forward.

What clock in your life are you still setting by hand?

Here, I made this. My gift to you, for taking the time to read.

Images are from my imagination, generated by AI. Writing is all me.
