Glimmers
In his press conference last night, U.S. men’s soccer coach Mauricio Pochettino called out the press for not congratulating the United States on winning its group. Instead, all the questions focused on the team’s performance in yesterday’s match.
That’s why I think we need our Friday Glimmers.
It’s important to look at what went well during our week.
For me, this past week started on Saturday when I went to a movie meetup—a new group I found on Instagram. We saw Leviticus and I met people I’d never met before. We spent time talking about movies, and it was a great way to begin the week.
Sunday was Father’s Day. I went to brunch with my wife and son, and the restaurant even gave me a new hat. After that, we went to see Hell’s Kitchen by Alicia Keys. It was an amazing musical, and I’ve been listening to the soundtrack all week.
On Wednesday, I went to another movie meetup and saw Supergirl. Once again, I met more new friends who simply enjoy going to the movies.
I also got to watch World Cup games from home, started the first week of summer school, and finished a new book that I borrowed from the library.
Were there challenges this week? Of course.
But the glimmers were there too.
They’re always there.
Sometimes we just have to be intentional about noticing them.
So, what were your glimmers this week?
