Glimmers

I bet this week there were times when I got angry. I also bet there were times when I was annoyed, frustrated, maybe even sad or anxious.

But you know what? Right alongside all of those were my glimmers—those little things that went well, the moments that made me smile, the experiences that reminded me life is still good.

When I look back on my week, I think about having breakfast with a friend and enjoying a really good breakfast burrito. Going to a book swap at a local café. Seeing a horror movie with my movie club. Seeing some of my AI-generated images published in a book by the founder of our company. Receiving an encouraging card. Leading staff trainings that I enjoyed.

And then there are the glimmers I’m looking forward to—seeing The Odyssey in IMAX and publishing three new songs by my AI band, Aquafunkapus and the Band of Misfit Heroes.

There are always things to celebrate, things to look forward to, and things to enjoy. That’s why every Friday I like to stop and look for my glimmers.
