Glimmers
It’s Friday, and that means it’s time for Friday Glimmers.
Friday Glimmers is simply a way to find the good inside a particular week. The week may have been stressful. It may have been hard. You may be tired or running on empty. But inside every week, there are still moments that brought joy, peace, excitement, or simply made you smile.
This week, I had several.
The first glimmer was being able to close out three exit IEPs — students who are now ready to graduate. That one felt meaningful in a way that’s hard to put into words.
The second glimmer was finding out that our end-of-year staff celebration is fully paid for and planned. One less thing hanging over my head going into the holiday weekend.
The third glimmer was getting to see The Devil Wears Prada on a Wednesday night with my wife. Midweek moments like that can feel like small vacations.
The fourth glimmer was getting lost in some really interesting documentaries at night — surrendering to someone else’s stories and ideas for a while.
The fifth glimmer was working through an inner critic journal that helped me make more intentional decisions and challenged some of the thoughts that usually try to steer me in the wrong direction.
And one more — finding a creative space that could potentially host future workshops. That one has my imagination going.
So those were my glimmers this week. Little things that made me happy. Little things that mattered.
Now I head into a holiday weekend looking forward to seeing BTS in Vegas.
Sometimes glimmers aren’t giant, life-changing events. Sometimes they’re just quiet reminders that good moments are still showing up, even in the middle of a busy or stressful season.
What was one glimmer from your week that you almost missed — something that, when you really stop and sit with it, actually meant something?
