Funky Attitude
Sometimes, for reasons I really can’t explain, I get a funky attitude. A bad attitude, where negative thoughts are just swirling. And it happens, and I don’t want to fight them, and it’s hard fighting them, and it feels like I should just give up — like a negative attitude is sort of a given.
But when that happens, I realize that’s not true. I do have a choice over my attitude. I just need to get back to basics.
And basics is writing down three things I’m thankful for in the morning, writing down my affirmation. After that, listening to some sort of positive broadcast on the way home in the car.
Then my attitude begins to get better, and I realize that, just like taking medicine, I have to do my affirmations, my gratitude list, in order to keep my attitude up.
And yes, I do wish I just woke up happy every day. Joyful every day. And maybe there are people who are like that. But you know what, I just will continue to do my affirmations.
What are the basics you go back to?
Here, I made this. My gift to you, for taking the time to read.
