In the morning, I need to meditate, read my Bible, do a gratitude list, and walk the dog. I’m listening to a podcast, and the therapist says, “Set an intention to enjoy life.”

Okay. So I say it: “I am going to enjoy life.”

Then my work schedule shows up, and the intention to enjoy life is tested. The intention looks at the daily schedule and says, “Call me back next week when you’re on break. I want nothing to do with this.”

The intention to enjoy life is easy on break. Or easier. I’ve had breaks where tragedy occurs. I’ve watched too many Hallmark movies—the holidays are filled with festivals, card-making, baking, and no drama. So it seems. But does that mean I give up on the intention to enjoy life?

Nope.

When the intention wants to run away, I just need to call it back. So that’s what I’ll do.

What do you do when your intention takes one look at your Tuesday and tries to ghost you?
