Easy like Sunday Morning
Sunday morning is easy. I thought that this morning as I woke up and listened to the rain falling outside my bedroom window. It got me thinking about the Commodores’ “Easy,” a song from 1977. It reminded me of my childhood, and how Sundays can be simple. I don’t need to take a shower, walk the dog, commute to work. I can make coffee, sit in my pajamas, and look forward to spending time with friends taking communion. Then I learned that Faith No More recorded a version of “Easy” in 1992. What??? I was shocked. I quickly found the version on Spotify. I was happy to have wandered into something new.
There is a magic to me in discovery, instead of using Sunday morning to worry. I need to use Sunday mornings to loosen my grip, follow the rain toward whatever wonder appears, and let discovery quiet the worry
Sunday mornings can be easy. Let them be.
What can you replace Sunday Scary with?
