Curious
I believe it would be great if people would choose curiosity before condemnation.
For example, I heard a sitting U.S. senator say, "In the state of California, they will take your kids if you don't use the pronouns the state gives you."
There are serious problems with that statement. First, the state doesn't assign pronouns, nor does it take children from parents over the issue.
The truth is, gender dysphoria is a real diagnosis. If it is something you don't believe in, that is fine, but in my mind, you don't need to be mean. At times, I even wonder if people believe they are being mean.
Or does someone believe that if you are nice or curious, you are in some way in violation of your morals?
So condemnation is chosen.
You can trace trauma to various forms of condemnation. The truth for me is that condemning doesn't move you in the direction of positive relationships and healthy community. Curiosity, to me, is a better path. You build trust, friendship, and community.
Condemnation tears down bridges. Curiosity builds them.
Who got curious about you when it would have been easier to judge?
