In a given day, I can point out many different items to be thankful for, and in the next moment be presented with world events — and even local events — that are disturbing, causing sadness, discomfort, and even discouragement.

Deciding to look for pockets of hope and joy will not influence the events that are discouraging, but it will redirect your inner temperature. From that place, you can begin to devise actions that will hopefully contribute to making things better.

What is one pocket of hope or joy you can intentionally seek out today, even in the middle of what feels heavy?
